Join us here http://katherinescorner.com/

My family is always my favorite things. I have a three month old great grand son named Skyler. He is a joy to all of us. He is with us today. My husband, Jerry, is in Little Rock with our granddaughter, Sage. Her Mom and Dad are out of state for a couple of days. Sage will come home with Jerry on Friday. She is visiting us while her parents take a vacation. We always have such fun. I have invited the other grands to spend Friday night so we can have a great time. Here are some pictures of her last visit. We made brownies one night and the next morning we made chocolate gravy.

We had a tea party

Merry Christmas to all of you!!
1. Ahhhh  this is just the best time of year. It seems everyone is happy and doing their best to make their home nice for their family. I know I am. I want to take the grands to see the Christmas lights in Branson.

  2. We will start preparing cookies and decorating Christmas sweatshirts tomorrow. Each grand will make their own shirts and decorate their own cookies to show off to the family gathering on Christmas day.

3. Creating a beautiful Christmas tree was easy this year. My daughter in law, Holly, bought me a beautiful large tree with colored lights. She even put it up and shaped it for me. The grands decorated it.

  4. Relaxation will be something left for after the holidays. There's just no time for myself right now. I want to go to the lake house with just hubby after the holidays. It will be quiet there and we can take long walks together. There's also a fantastic restaurant there.

5. I want to kick start my plan for a year of healthy living com Jan Get rid of some of the junk food and exercise more. The better I look the happier my husband is and I love it when my husband is happy.

 6. The Bible tells us there will be no end of the world . Eph 3:21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to playing with my grand Sage who is coming to spend a few days with us
Sage

Tomorrow my plans include helping the grands make Christmas cookies  and decorating sweat shirts to wear on Christmas day to our party.  Sunday, I want to go to church if we are home. I have been sick lately and haven't been well enough to go.

Three more of my grands

FOR TODAY Dec/19/2012

Outside my window is a cloudy day. It looks like we might get rain.

I am thinking that it's too late to do some things I wanted to do for Christmas. I have been sick (I'm always sick) so I missed Mama's Christmas party on Sat.

I am thankful for all the blessings God has so graciously given me. I have more than I ever expected.

In the kitchen I cooked chicken breast and plan to make dumplings for lunch.

I am wearing blue pajamas.

I am hoping to get my entire home cleaned by Christmas.

I am looking forward to Sat when the grands are coming to my home to make Christmas cookies and Christmas sweat shirts.

I am learning that I have preconceptions about a lot of things that may not be true. I'm trying to study and listen to other points of view. My goal for the coming year is to read through a new Bible and commentary. I do this each year.

Around the house I'm very blessed because putting up a Christmas tree is too much for me to deal with. My daughter in law, Holly, surprised me by buying me a tree with beautiful colored lights and putting it up for me. The grands made decorations for me last year and they put them on the tree. It's very beautiful.

I'm reading "An Irish Christmas". It's a good read and I'm enjoying it.

I am pondering on what to do today for my birthday. I think my husband and I will go out to eat today.

A favorite quote for today  The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.

One of my favorite things is being with my family. I have wonderful children and grands. I now have two great grands.

A few plans for the rest of the week is to go to the library and get some last minute shopping done. I love fruitcake so I want to buy one today. I hope they are not all gone. I would hate to cook one.

A peek into my day is very boring. My husband is helping me clean carpets today. We have two machines so we can get through faster. I usually spend my days in bed and get up in the afternoon but I couldn't get to sleep last night so I'm still up.

Here are the main characters in the book.
  • Alex Cross the main character and protagonist of the series.
  • John Sampson, Alex’s best friend and fellow detective.
  • Bree Cross Alex’s new wife.
  • Nanna Mamma whom is the matriarch of the Cross family and is Alex’s grandmother who adopted him at the age of 13.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, ALEX CROSS starts out in Saint Anthony’s Church  on Christmas Eve. People are lighting candles, going to confession and praying. The usual things taking place in a church.  The stakeout that Cross is on is meant to  stop a seemingly minor crime. Cross plans to stop the suspect before he does too much damage where he can go home and spend some time with his family on Christmas. However, after he gets this crime all wrapped up he’s called away to another crime scene that looks like it might be more serious.

An attorney named Henry Fowler is holding his three children, his ex-wife, and her husband hostage. At one time Henry Fowler had been a successful attorney. His ex wife is now married to a congressman and that usually means a lot of news reporters. Fowler has really lost his mind and has a load of guns and is threatening to kill everyone in the home.  The negotiator has made the situation worse by making Fowler mad. This has made the situation a lot more dangerous.

“MERRY CHRISTMAS, ALEX CROSS , has a title that is a teaser, the book is really an exciting thriller. It’s a wonderful thriller that just happens to take place at Christmas and makes  a bad Christmas for Alex Cross. He wanted to be home with his family on that special day. I believe this Alex Cross book is one of James Patterson’s best books. It holds the reader’s attention. It’s a book you will not want to put down so don’t wait  until Christmas day to read it. Your family will not be happy if you are reading on such a special family day.

Cross is called to the second  scene in the hope that he can save the lives of the family that is held hostage.  Fowler could not cope with being known as a drug addict instead of the well known lawyer he once was but no one had thought he would be capable of killing his family.  Cross wants to find out what caused Fowler to become addicted to drugs and end up holding his family hostage. What terrible secret could cause a man to do such a terrible thing?

Cross wanted to resolve this situation and spend the day with his family and he dose. Cross gets to eat a wonderful Christmas meal with his family. Cross finishes the festivities of Christmas with his family but is then called to yet another crime scene. This one even more serious than the last. A  known terrorist and nemesis of Cross’s, Hala al Dossari, has been discovered in Union Station with a suspicious package. Union Station is full of Christmas travelers, Dossari, could possibly be a threat to the travelers. Cross feels confident that he can handle the situation with no problems. He is wrong about that.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, ALEX CROSS is a thriller to beat all thrillers.  The second half of the book has one of Patterson’s most exciting plots of any of his other books. It’s a terrorist attack on a monumental scale. It is so close to reality it will really scare you. I highly recommend this book for all adult readers. Happy reading, dtbrents
